Three Point Motors Mercedes-Benz 125th Celebrations
Around the world today, there are approximately 700 million cars on the road not including the millions of motorcycles, commercial trucks, buses and vans. All of which can be traced back to two distinct vehicles invented over 125 years ago by the founding fathers of the company that is known today as Mercedes-Benz.
No matter what the brand or model of car they may be, a large part of what Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler created are still visible in the blueprints of today’s vehicles. Presently, cars are equipped with a safety passenger cabin with crumple zones, airbags, ABS, Traction control, stability program, direct injection, an ignition system and so many more systems, all of which were pioneered by Mercedes-Benz engineers.
On June 17, 2011 we were able to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the automobile here in Victoria, distances away from the original birthplace in Stuttgart Germany. With approximately 700 people in attendance, the Victoria Conference Centre was the perfect venue for such a momentous occasion, celebrating an evening many of us are sure to remember for years to come.
