The bi-turbo V12 engine in the CL 600 Coupe – one of the world's most powerful production car engines – produces 510 hp and a staggering 612 lb-ft of torque. From a standstill, 100 km/h is reached in a quick 4.6 seconds.

Both these muscular powerhouses are balanced by transmissions of equal intelligence. The CL 550 4MATIC™ Coupe operates swiftly with the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard equipment making for smoother cruising, more responsive acceleration and even improved fuel efficiency. From vehicle motion, stability, braking, to even lighting; sensors and programs work together to monitor the CL-Class and adjust as needed to provide ultimate protection against danger^[1b]. Following a collision, our intelligent system automatically carries out a range of safety measures: the engine shuts off and hazard signals and emergency interior lighting switch on, the side windows are partially lowered and the doors are unlocked.

Anytime an airbag^[2b] or Emergency Tensioning Device is activated, the vehicle engages the standard TeleAid System^[3b], putting your vehicle in touch with the TeleAid Emergency Response Center, where trained specialists can assess the situation and alert emergency services.
